Salil Parekh, CEO of Infosys, said the company is making steady progress in implementing India’s ambitious new income tax portal project, with 1.9 crore returns filed so far, months after it was chastised for technical glitches.
“With 1.9 crore returns filed every day, we are making steady progress. Forms 1–7 are fully functional and available” Parekh told reporters following the release of the company’s second-quarter results.

One of the iconic Durga Puja pandal in Kolkata this year made on the world-famous skyscraper Dubai’s Burj Khalifa has suspended its laser show on Monday evening allegedly after pilots of commercial planes’ complained to the Air Traffic Control in the city.
As lazer lights intruding their cockpits, Sources in the airport said pilots of at least four flights had complained of laser lights that can momentarily blind the pilots’ vision in the cockpit.
“We decided to suspend the laser show as revellers were refusing to move on and were recording it on their cellphones. As a result, crowd control was becoming a challenge. The tail of the crowd was spilling on to the main road and creating a traffic bottleneck there. We don’t want people to get infected or sick while coming to enjoy the festival,” said Dibyendu Goswami, the chief coordinator of the puja committee.

Tata Motors Ltd (TML) announced on Tuesday that it has entered into a binding agreement with private equity investor TPG Rise Climate and co-investor ADQ to invest Rs 7,500 crore in a Tata Motors subsidiary that will be newly incorporated to manage the company’s electric vehicles (EV) business, according to a statement. According to the release, TPG Rise Climate and co-investors will invest Rs 7,500 crore in compulsory convertible instruments to achieve an 11 percent to 15% interest in the company, corresponding to an equity valuation of up to $9.1 billion.
