Trade

Following an improvement to forecasts from the World Trade Organization, global trade is expected to rise at its quickest rate in 11 years in 2021.
The World Trade Organization anticipates that trade would grow by 10.8% in 2021, compared to the previous year, when the pandemic brought economies around the world to a halt. This is a significant increase over prior WTO projections of 8% growth, and it would be the largest increase in global trade since 2010.
As the economy returns to pre-pandemic levels, trade growth is predicted to slow to 4.7 percent in 2022. However, the World Trade Organization has cautioned that semiconductor shortages and port backlogs may put a strain on some countries.
