North Korean leader Kim Jong-un said that he is willing to restore an important communication hotline with South Korea as a possible proposal for reconciliation.
He also accused the United States of proposing talks without changing its “hostile policy” towards North Korea.
In August of this year, Pyongyang cut off the hotline to protest the South Korean-US military exercise.
North Korea and South Korea are still at war technically because there was no peace agreement at the end of the Korean War in 1953.
In the past few years, the communication hotline between the two has been cut off and restored many times.
In 2020, after the failure of the North-South summit, Pyongyang bombed the North-South Korea border office established to improve communications.
