The eighth edition of the ‘Mitra Shakti’ bilateral joint exercise between the Indian Army and the Sri Lankan Army began on Monday at the Combat Training School in Ampara, Sri Lanka. The exercise was last organised in 2019 at the Foreign Training Node (FTN) stationed at Aundh military station in Pune.
The exercise intends to improve interoperability and share best practises in counter-insurgency and counter-terrorism operations by promoting close cooperation between the militaries of both countries.
